The Cozy Island Cottage is nestled under the shade of large live oak trees on James Island. Conveniently located 5 miles from Folly Beach and downtown, you are just minutes from the best Charleston has to offer. This "beachy farmhouse" cottage features 17 ft cathedral ceilings, fully stocked kitchen, live edge slab island bar top, over 250 sqft of outdoor living space with private hot tub, a bedroom with queen on main floor, and loft with queen bed accessed by a spiral staircase.
This spacious, well designed cottage offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, comfortable tiled shower with rain shower-head, and detachable shower-head, easy key-code access, Wifi, two flat screen smart TV's, laundry room, inside and outside seating areas, grill area, outdoor shower, private hot tub and ample space in the large shady backyard to play and entertain. The spiral staircase to access the loft is narrow. If you have trouble climbing stairs or are over 250lbs using this staircase may be challenging. Beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, a portable speaker are provided for you convenience as well as coffee, sugar, bath and beach towels, bed linens, paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps.

Uber and Lyft are plentiful and affordable. There are also local yellow cabs, limo services, and a public transit.
There are two other units, The Island Hideout and The Island Nest, attached to the rear of the front house, that may house other guests during your stay. The structures are separated by about 200' but are on the same half acre property so please be courteous.
The Cozy Island Cottage is the Stand alone in the back corner of the yard.

There are cameras located at the front exterior entrance and and over the backyard.

This was a very unique place, tucked behind a larger home that also seems to house another rental. The owners provided extremely detailed and easy-to-follow access instructions. It was safe (gated). The space worked for our needs for the weekend (just note that with the pullout couch in use, there aren’t many spaces to sit comfortably if watching tv - it’s a tiny home!) :) - but there was ample outdoor seating. The beds were all comfy - even the pull-out couch. There was coffee provided for the coffee maker. The outdoor shower was private and useful. There were outlets in convenient places for chargers and such. We did not go to the beach so I am not sure about that walkability aspect. There seemed to be a buggy and a cooler and beach chairs available for use. There were several minisplits and ceiling fans that could be adjusted to your comfort. Based on location and host helpfulness, would consider this one again!
